  • Expanding a Boston Landmark

Our architects produced a contemporary expansion design which features 96 hotel rooms and more than 12,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, including an outdoor terrace overlooking Fenway Park’s ‘Green Monster’.

    Contemporary Drive-by

Viewed from either a distance or traveling along the Massachusetts Turnpike at high speeds the design displays large bold moves rather than small intricate details. Alternating punched window openings, vertical colored cement panels, and horizontal floor lines create a rhythm which invokes a sense of movement and reflects the adjacent highway.

The event space is expressed in an all-glass facade overlooking Fenway Park. The use of glass not only allows for expansive views out but also conveys to the passerby the activity within. Glass zigzags down the facade to the event entry making a symbolic and visual connection from the street to the event level. Deliberately contemporary in its architectural character, the expansion creates a dynamic tension between the traditional and the new.
