Cultural Immersion

Located within Boston’s Chinatown neighborhood, an area rich with shops, restaurants, and culture, the 17 story proposed hotel is programmed for approximately 250 guestrooms. Rather than design a building with a signature element, the design team set out to create a signature building, with the building as a whole being the defining element for the neighborhood and community.

The design of the façade is intended to be reflective of the textile heritage of the area and takes the many building styles in the area and knits them together in a quilt like fabric.  It is this blending of several building façade elements that celebrates the district by creating an overall pattern and texture.
